We Have Food at Home is an original 36" x 48" oil painting by Cleveland-based contemporary artist Stina Aleah. Part of The Childhood I Carried series, this figurative oil painting explores Black childhood, nostalgia, family, memory, and the small moments of love we often understand differently once we become adults.
The phrase “we have food at home” is one many of us heard growing up. As a child, it could feel like disappointment when what you really wanted was fast food, a restaurant meal, or something that seemed just out of reach. As an adult, the memory changes. What once felt like restriction can become a reminder of home, care, sacrifice, and the ways our parents provided for us with what they had.
This painting also reflects the experience of growing up and finally being able to enjoy some of the things you once thought were out of reach. It holds both versions of the memory at once: the child who wanted more and the adult who can now recognize the love that was already there.

All original artworks, commissions, and made-to-order prints are non-refundable and non-returnable.
Each piece is created or printed specifically for your order, and returns are not accepted unless your item arrives damaged.
Damaged Items
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 7 days of delivery at info@stinaaleah.com with:

Clear photos of the damage
Photos of the packaging (if applicable)
We will review your claim and may offer a replacement, store credit, or refund depending on the situation. Claims made after 7 days may not be eligible for resolution.
Lost or Missing Packages
If your package is marked as delivered but you haven’t received it, please contact your local carrier first. If the issue isn’t resolved, email us at info@stinaaleah.com, and we’ll do our best to assist.

Packaging
All artwork is packaged securely to protect it in transit. Prints are typically shipped flat in rigid mailers or rolled in protective tubes, while original artworks are packed in reinforced boxes or crates, depending on size.
