How My Son Became My Little Muse:

A Journey of Art, Family, and Inspiration

ree

There’s something magical about having your child see you paint, they don’t just watch; they become a part of the process.

When I first picked up a paintbrush, I had no idea that my little boy, Sol, would end up being one of my biggest inspirations.

And so, this blog is a little love letter to that journey.

I want to share how he’s shaped my work, how family moments have found their way into my murals and paintings, and how those quiet “mommy and me” moments have turned into the heartbeat of my creative life.

For anyone looking for inspiration on blending family and art, or just wanting to feel that genuine connection behind each piece, stick around.

You’ll find not just a story of an artist, and her art.

But a story of a mom who’s been lucky enough to have her son right there growing together in this colorful journey.

Before Sol was born, I was working for someone who demanded every ounce of my energy. I poured my ambition into building a career that was technically art-related, but I was giving so much of myself to someone else’s vision.

Then Sol arrived, and everything shifted.

Becoming a mom made me realize there’s a whole world outside of those 16-hour workdays.

There was this tiny life that depended on me, and he became the reason I wanted to reshape my path entirely.

By the time Sol turned one, I decided to take all the business knowledge I’d learned in the corporate world and channel it into becoming a full-time artist. I wanted to create a legacy, something that would let me spend more time with him and show him that life can be built around passion, not just obligation.

When I was teaching myself to paint, I’d sit Sol on my lap and hand him a brush. Those early paintings carry his little toddler brushstrokes right alongside mine.

He was there at my first art shows, sometimes napping in a red wagon while I set up my booth.

He’s been on planes with me, he’s watched murals come to life, and he’s even had a few cameos in my work.

In a way, Sol is the reason I found this burning drive to be great.

Every time someone said I couldn’t do it, I’d see his little face and remember why I was pushing forward.

He’s been my greatest muse and my biggest cheerleader.

Through every phase of this journey, both as a mother and an artist.

That’s a story I want people to know.

Looking back, I realize that my journey as an artist isn’t just about paint and canvas, it’s about legacy, love, and letting life inspire every stroke.

Sol didn’t just witness my transformation; he was a catalyst for it.

Through motherhood, I found not just motivation but a deeper purpose in my work.

And as my family grows, I carry the lessons, laughter, and love we’ve shared into every piece I create. Art gave me a voice, but my son gave me the reason to use it.

Thank you Sol!

Stay the path. Trust the process. Paint the story.
